Pivoting to Purchased Food
Our community needs us, and we are committed to continuing to produce record-breaking amounts of meals each week. Because we rescued a bulk amount of approximately 86,000 pounds of food in the first few weeks of this crisis, we have been able to create extra meals to freeze and keep up with the increased demand. Now, as the food supply is shifting, we are pivoting to purchasing food and making all our meals from scratch. This is different for us – but thanks to your gifts and time, we are making it happen!

Thanks to the Community Foundation of Elkhart County
Cultivate would like to thank the Community Foundation of Elkhart County for their generous gift of $20,000. Their support has been, and continues to be, crucial to our organization’s ability to reach those in need in Elkhart County, as well as those we serve in St. Joseph and Marshall Counties.
Our Meals Are Smokin’!
Chef Randy Z loves any chance to use his smoker. And this week he was busy! He had 900 pounds of polish sausage and 700 pounds of turkey on the smoker – and now it’s all cooked up and ready to flavor some amazing meals.
You were an Answer to Prayer This Week
One volunteer from Vineyard Church, Erica, shared this heartwarming story with us after she dropped some Cultivate meals off for a family who lives down the road from her.
Erica’s neighbor is a single mom and her daughter is autistic. Like all of us, they have been extremely isolated during this time, but it has hit her daughter harder than most because she is not able to receive the behavioral therapy she needs. They also do not have a vehicle right now, so this mom said she had been feeling especially hopeless lately. But they always look to God to provide for their needs, and this time He provided through you.
Get Involved in the Fight Against Food Insecurity
We need your support to keep providing meals to those in need during the months of May, June, July, and August.
You can carry a family through these uncertain times by making a gift of $140 or a monthly commitment of $35/month for the months of May through August.
All gifts are tax-deductible and will go towards feeding the hungry in our community. Please consider giving today by donating securely online here or mailing your check made out to Cultivate to 1403 Prairie Ave., South Bend, IN 46613.
