Do you know what day it is?! It's #tagustuesday! We have hundreds of volunteers in our building every week and we want to give you a shoutout! So don't forget to check in on Facebook when you volunteer and tag us in your posts so we can share about your awesome work!

This week we are partnering with volunteer groups from Milestone Contractors, LOGAN Center, South Bend Community School Corporation CTE, Mishawaka Kiwanis Club, and many wonderful individuals and families!

We love our partners!! Through our Cultivate Cares Food Network (CCFN) we partner with over 100 local food pantries in St. Joseph, Elkhart, Marshall counties and beyond to provide fresh products for their guests to enjoy!

Have you visited us yet on Prairie Avenue? We moved into our current building in February 2020 right in time for the pandemic! We transformed what was previously a storehouse for the South Bend Tribune into a space that could better serve our mission as we continued to grow rapidly. With a kitchen, warehouse, freezer, cooler, office space, and a volunteer area we created a more practical and welcoming environment for all of our volunteers, pantry partners, and guests. Our food rescue increased by 400% during the pandemic so we are very thankful that we had this new space to grow into. Within a few months, we had to add an additional freezer that can hold up to 40,000 meals and are quickly outgrowing that space as well! Stay tuned for updates in 2022 on plans for expansion. We love the physical space we inhabit and we are glad it allows us to be a community food hub as we reduce waste and fight food insecurity in northern Indiana.

This is a great example of the collaboration that happens in our community. Marshall County Neighborhood Center was one of our first partners in our Cultivate Cares Food Network and they do such an amazing job helping those in need in their community!
